The Lumber River kayak trip is coming up on Sunday, May 19. We’ll be launching from the Lumber River State Park Princess Ann access area and paddling downriver approx. 12 miles to the NC 904 access in Fair Bluff, NC. We’ll meet at the The River Bend Outfitters take out point in Fair Bluff at 9:30 a.m. at 1206 Main St., Fair Bluff, NC 28439. (Mapquest the take out point at http://mapq.st/18yoF2Z).
From there we’ll shuttle cars approx 8 miles to the Lumber River State Park at 2819 Princess Ann Road, Orrum, NC 28369.

Be sure to have a PFD, whistle, sunscreen, snacks, and water with you. This will be an easy downriver paddle. Minimum 14 foot kayaks welcomed.
Several of us are going up to Lumber River State Park on Saturday, paddling the Lumber River above the park on Saturday afternoon, camping Saturday night, and then will meet up with everyone at Lumber River State park on Sunday morning to launch.

Our current campsites we have reserved are PA7 and PA8, right on the river in the Princess Ann Access area of the state park.
